RYBOT
Stealth IoT Startup Web and Mobile Product
for Children on the Internet
What is Rybot?
The internet is a valuable tool for education and entertainment for children, but it can be also be a dangerous place. Rybot was designed to help parents manage the content their children are allowed to consume on the internet.

Rybot started as an IoT device to help manage internet time and content for their children. This project is under NDA- please ask for further details.

The Challenge
Work with a cross-collaborative team composed of a CEO, Product Manager, and Creative Director to design the user experience of a product in the internet safety space for both parents and children.

This project is under NDA, so please contact me for additional information.
The Outcome
After insights from user research, the product is both an Internet of Things, and a web extension product.

The web extension product is in the visual design and development phase.

My Role
UX Researcher, UX Designer, Product Designer
Tools Used
Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Keynote, Post-its, sketchbook

UX Research Methods
I conducted interviews and surveys to understand how parents manage internet security for their children. I then used affinity mapping to tease out actionable insights.

I synthesized all research findings and presented them to CEO and other relevant stakeholders. My insights changed the direction of the product.
My findings highlighted a specific problem parents faced when allowing their children to use the internet.

Information Architecture
I mapped out the onboarding flow for the web extension. This involved designing the information architecture of the extension's navigation. Once I had wireframed the screens for the web extension, I mapped out the flow a user (a parent) would see to complete a task.

Sketching
I took all actionable insights from the UX research process and began to sketch the user flow and screens for the web extension product.

Wireframing
After synthesizing user research and sketching out relevant screens, I began wireframing out the parent's dashboard and the children's dashboard.

Conclusion and Next Steps
The design process for Rybot gave me the perspective of doing the entire UX design process and the product design process for the consumer.
This product has evolved to be on GoFundMe.
